Here is what Sidhu discussed with the Pakistan army chief

New Delhi, Aug 19: All eyes were on former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu who attended the swearing in ceremony of Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan on Saturday. Sidhu grabbed eye balls when he embraced and spoke with Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa.

During their brief conversation, General Bajwa asked Sidhu if there was a possibility of India and Pakistan starting an overland Sikh pilgrimage route between the two Punjabs.

Besides discussing his love for cricket, the General also told Sidhu that it was his desire that both sides discuss peace.

While addressing the media, Sidhu said that the army chief of Pakistan had told him about his plans on opening the route to the Gurudwara Darbar Sahib at Kartapur in Pakistan for Guru Nanak's 550th birth anniversary in 2019. He also said that the General expressed his desire to open the route to Nankana Sahab, which is one of the Sikh pilgrimage sites in Pakistan's Punjab province.
