Heatwaves to grip West Rajasthan, Vidarbha for next 4-5 days
According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over parts of West Rajasthan and Vidarbha during next 4 -5 days and at one or two pockets over northern parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during next 2 days.
Heat wave conditions were prevailing in many parts of West Rajasthan and one or two pockets of East Rajasthan and Vidharbha on Tuesday. Maximum temperatures are likely to continue to remain in the range of 43. 44°C over parts of Telangana, Rayalaseema and Interior Maharashtra during next 3 days.
According to a private weather forecasting agency- Skymet Weather, hot westerly winds are blowing over these regions from Sindh, Balochistan and Central Pakistan region. The temperatures are already nearing 50 degrees Celsius which is the main cause of the soaring temperatures in parts of Central India. Besides, constant clear weather and bright sunny days are also assisting this intense rise.
Also, thunderstorm was observed at a few places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh; at isolated places over Rajasthan, Jammu Division of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Assam & Meghalaya from 0830 Tuesday to 0530 hours (IST) on Wednesday.
