Haryana Government orders fresh inquiry into Vadra land deal
Chandigarh, Jan 2: Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has ordered a fresh inquiry into the allotment of 350.17 acres of prime land in Gurgaon to realty giant DLF.
CM Khattar said, "We are proceeding in the case administratively as well as under the law."
He further said, "The first priority of the state government was to ensure good governance, transparency and provide people a graft-free system."
According to report in India Today, the fresh probe has been ordered on the basis of a letter written by whistleblower IAS officer Ashok Khemka.
On Thursday, the Income Tax department has issued notice to a business firm owned by Vadra as part of its probe to understand the "financial structure" of the company and real estate projects undertaken by it.
Alleging irregularities in the land deals involving Vadra company, BJP had raked up the issue during campaign of 2014 Lok Sabha polls and before the October 2014 Assembly polls to attack Congress.
