Had given suggestions but was told it is CM’s prerogative: Kumar Vishwas on AAP MLAs crisis

Senior AAP leader Kumar Vishwas slammed Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal by claiming that he had given certain suggestions earlier but was told that it is CM's prerogative to appoint people.

Vishwas said that this is why he remained quiet but at the same time called Election Commission's decision to disqualify 20 AAP MLAs, an unfortunate and sad one.

"It's very unfortunate and sad the action against 20 AAP MLAs, I had given certain suggestions earlier but I was told its the CM's prerogative to appoint people so I kept quiet," Vishvas said who was recently ignored for a Rajya Sabha seat by the party.

All this has come at a time when rift inside the party became apparent due to Kapil Mishra's exit and denial of Rajya Sabha ticket to Kumar Vishwas. Some TV news channels are already predicting snap polls in Delhi.

In its opinion sent to President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday morning, the Election Commission said the MLAs, by occupying the post of parliamentary secretaries between March 13, 2015, and September 8, 2016, held office of profit, and were liable to be disqualified as legislators, highly-placed sources said
