New Delhi, Nov 23 On the eve of the martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur, President Pranab Mukherjee said on Wednesday that his sacrifice inspired us to unite all humanity into one common brotherhood.
In his message, the President said, "Guru Teg Bahadur's Shaheedi Din is an occasion for all of us to remember the glory of his sacrifice."
He said that Guru Teg Bahadurji was an embodiment of humility who transcended all barriers of caste, creed, race, religion and gender.
"Let us on this scared day rededicate ourselves to the philosophy of selfless service to all. Let hatred and violence find no place in our thoughts and actions. May the sacrifice of Guru Teg Bahadurji inspire us to unite all humanity into one common brotherhood," Mukherjee said.
