Gujarat: Folk singer showered with wads of cash at devotional programme
Famous folk singer from Gujarat would not thought about landing in the middle of a big controversy while performing at a devotional programme in Valsad of South Gujarat late on Saturday evening.

A video of people showering the singer with the new currency notes during a programme went viral on social media.
Wads of currency notes, worth lakhs, were showered on him at the event.
Notes in the denominations of Rs. 100 and Rs. 500 were showered on the singer. The exact amount is not known, though it is believed that the collection has been in 50 lakhs.
It is learnt that Ashish Patel, Sarpanch of Kalwada village in Valsad, had organised the programme to collect money for Jalaram Manav Seva Trust, a charitable organisation so that they could bring ambulance in the village Gujarat.
Even in 2016, Gadhvi was showered with Rs 500 notes during a 'Lok Dayro' in Jamnagar. The programme's collection was a staggering Rs 4.5 crore.
