Government fails to bring everyone on board on triple talaq

The bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha but due to lack of number, the government is trading very cautiously. The bill is being opposed by Trinamool Congress, AIMIM, and the Congress has some reservations over the bill and the statement made by Sonia in Parliament pressies that the stand of the Congress is very clear. Today being the last day of the Monsoon session, the government seems to have wait till the next session to get it passed.

Earlier, the Union cabinet has made three amendments in the Tripple Talaq Bill, now it wants to get the bill passed in Parliament. As per amendments made, now FIR can be filed by either wife or by the person having blood relations. The compromise clause has also been added that could be done by appearing before the magistrate. Third amendment was that bail can be sought from magistrate but triple talaq still remains non-bailable.

Newly appointed Rajya Sabha MP of BJP Rakesh Sinha said that the Congress wanted redux of Shah Bano in the country and people opposing this bill will be called talibani.
