The Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party had not put up any nominees against Pritam Munde as a mark of respect to her father, whose death in June necessitated the by-election.
The Beed Lok Sabha constituency had falled vacant after her father's death in a road accident.
While, Pankaja, Munde's eldest daughter and sitting BJP MLA, defeated her estranged cousin Dhananjay Munde, a NCP nominee from Parli Assembly seat by 25,895 votes. She polled 96,904 against Dhananjay's 71,009 votes.
Top leaders of BJP, including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah, had addressed campaign rallies for the Munde sisters in their respective constituencies.
