Bangalore, March 17: Holi hain bhai holi hain, Bura na mano Holi hain... Holi, the festival of colours has been celebrated across India and the world.Colours ruled the streets of almost of cities of the country. Indians across the world also celebrated it with same zeal and fervour on Monday, March 17.

From youngsters and the elderly to the widows of Vrindavan, the 'gulal' spared none as revellers danced to the accompaniment of drums. People exchanged sweets as a mark of bonhomie.

The festival is celebrated to commemorate the Hindu mythological tale of Prahlada emerging unscathed from the flames despite being drawn into the fire by demoness Holika. The Hindu month of 'Phagun' ended on Sunday with 'Holika Dahan' and 'Chaita' starting on Monday.
