Gmail stumbled for a short while on Friday, millions affected

's email service and few other services came to a standstill on Friday due to software troubles. An online Google Apps dashboard indicated that trouble affected Gmail, Google+ and an array of the company's other services.

The brief outage affected millions of people, including those using the service at work. The internet giant didn't disclose the extent of outage. Complaints were posted online from Europe, Canada, the United States and other parts of the world.

The Google dashboard indicated that all Google services were restored by afternoon in California. Interestingly, Yahoo, whose email service had experienced a similar massive outage in December, was among the ones who spread the news of Gmail outage on Twitter. Yahoo even tweeted a screen capture of a Google message apologizing for the problem.
