German woman molested, robbed in Mysuru, Karnataka; culprit absconding
According to reports, a German tourist in Mysuru, Karnataka, was allegedly molested and robbed by an unidentified man on Tuesday evening.
Bengaluru, Feb 22: After the recent horrific episode of kidnapping and assault of a popular actress in Kerala shocked the nation, the molestation and robbery of a foreign national in Mysuru, Karnataka, reiterates the fact that no woman in India is safe.
According to media reports, a German woman was allegedly assaulted and robbed of Rs 2,500 at Chamundi Hills near Mysuru. "A German national was assaulted and robbed of Rs 2,500 on Chamundi Hills last evening," a police official informed reporters on Wednesday.
After the victim approached the police, a case has been registered under various sections of IPC including 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery).
The incident happened when the German tourist was climbing down the steps of Chamundi Hills. According to her statement to the police, an unidentified person passing by grabbed her mobile phone first, then the accused allegedly bit her left cheek and mouth while pushing her down.

to
escape
by
kicking
her
attacker,
but
he
robbed
her
of
Rs
2,500.

accused
