Geelani had raised anti India slogans to trigger outrage: police probe reveals
New Delhi, Feb 17: The Delhi police has begun questioning S A R Geelani in connection with the JNU case. Geelani a former professor at the Delhi university was arrested by the Delhi police on Tuesday, Feb 16.
The police say it was Geelani who had raised the anti India slogans at an event organised at the Press Club to observe the death anniversary of Afzal Guru last week.
The police say that Geelani had planned the event in a systematic manner. He was aware that shouting anti India slogans would trigger an outrage and could also spread across the country. Geelani so far has not revealed much information to the police.
The police say that they have proof that he had organised the event. The police have with them an email sent out by him.
The email was sent to book the Press Club to host the event. The police have slapped sedition charges against Geelani. The charge states that he had intentionally shouted anti national slogans so that there would be outrage.
