Four in a year: Another explosion on a public transport vehicle in Haryana

New Delhi, June 7: Another explosion has been reported in Haryana today. This time it was on a bus at Bhuna, Fatehbad in which one person has been injured. The police have however ruled out any foul play in this incident.

Preliminary investigations have shown that there was some potash kept alongside explosive material informed Superintendent of Police, Fatehbad, O P Narwal. The material was meant to be used to scare birds away from the fields and it was an accident, investigations have also revealed.

While investigators will probe further the explosion at Fatehbad, it must be recalled that there were three other blasts in the past year.

The first two blasts in January and May were reported on the Delhi-Panipat train. The third explosion was reported on a state run bus Kurukshethra. In the three blasts Improvised Explosive Devices had been used.

When the first blast had occurred on the Delhi-Panipat train in January investigators had suspected the role of the SIMI. In the second train explosion the bomb had been placed at the same spot. In the bus explosion similar materials had been used.

In all the three explosions the pattern and the bombs were similar. The bomber had targeted a lesser crowded spot. The bombs were similar in nature. In fact an officer with the NIA assisting the probe said that they were replicas. The fourth explosion that took place today prima appears to be an accident.
