Facebook page live streams Padmaavat from theatre
Troubles continue to haunt Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat movie released on Thursday. Live streaming by Facebook page added woes by leaking the full film online.
The Facebook page, called 'Jaaton Ka Adda' went live from inside a theatre screening the film.
According to News18, at the time of writing this, more than 15,000 people had shared the link and the video on Facebook received more than 3.5 lakh views.
"Padmaavat", directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is released today but the controversies that sparked early last year when the film was in the making have not left it till date. The story is based on 16th century Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi's epic poem "Padmaavat".
Several states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab, tried to ban the film but India's Supreme Court has ruled that this would violate creative freedoms.
Padmaavat was initially named 'Padmaavati' and was due to hit screens on December 1 but filmmakers changed the name and pushed back the release date. Earlier this month the censor board cleared it with five changes.
