Embarrassment for Karnataka govt: 5 officials arrested from rave party
Bengaluru, Aug 13: In a major embarrassment for the Congress party, Maharashtra police on Wednesday, Aug 12, arrested four officials from the Karnataka government.
One of the minister's Personal Assistant and three other officials, were arrested by Kolhapur police, as they were caught in a rave party, with prostitutes, at a private farm in Injole village in Panhala taluk of Kolhapur district.
Five people from the local prostitution were also arrested. All nine of them have been remanded to judicial custody.
The arrested officials have been identified as 42-year-old Kiran Singh Rajput, who is the PA of Nagaraj Hanumanthaiah, Hemanth Rame Gowda and Arun M from the Education Department.
Since rave parties are banned in Karnataka, people head to Maharashtra or Goa for holding rave parties.
Meanwhile, Karnataka government has also ordered a probe into the incident.
