Dr Prem Kumar, an MLA from Gaya, NDA's CM candidate?
Patna/New Delhi, Oct 12: After a long suspense, it seems that the NDA-led alliance of BJP, LJP and HAM have finally zeroed in on a name for the top post of the next chief minister of Bihar, if it wins in the ongoing assembly elections.
According to a report published in NDTV, Dr Prem Kumar, an MLA from Gaya district may assume the top post if NDA comes to power. The statement was made by BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain, during party's campaign meeting.
"I request you to vote in large numbers and return your legislator Prem Kumar, who will be the Chief Ministerial candidate for the state. He will be the chief minister of the state if the NDA comes to power,"Hussain was quoting as saying.
Dr Prem Kumar, an eight-time MLA from Gaya and a senior BJP leader hails from an extremely backward class category and represents the voters belonging from EBCs. [BJP in caste balancing act ahead of Bihar assembly elections]
Dr Kumar's supporters have even launched a campaign on Facebook for his chief ministerialship.
Earlier, the name of BJP's popular face and veteran politican Sushil Kumar Modi was doing the rounds for the top post.
NDA's main rival, the grand alliance of Congress-JDU-RJD has already announced the incumbent chief minister Nitish Kumar as its choice of the next CM, if it wins.
