TTV Dinakaran-faction MLAs on Thursday moved Madras High Court with a plea seeking floor test in Tamil Nadu assembly. Around 19 MLAs said to be backing expelled AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran.

MLAs supporting VK Sasikala's nephew TTV Dinakaran address the media after calling on Tamil Nadu Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao to express their no-confidence in the Chief Minister K Palaniswami government, in Chennai.

Subsequently, the Madras HC ordered Tamil Nadu Advocate General to respond at the earliest whether there would be any action to disqualify 19 MLAs supporting Dinakaran.

Meanwhile, Dinakaran-faction MLA's met Election Commission officials in Delhi and urged them to consider VK Sasikala's removal from AIADMK as illegal.

Vijila Sathyananth, one of the leaders of the faction, said that soon the party will hold a General Council meet after the consent of VK Sasikala.

Ever since being expelled from the party, Dinakaran has been saying that he would go to any extent to 'protect his party'. He had played down the general council meeting called by EPS-OPS faction. The general council called by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami led faction removed Sasikala from the post of temporary general secretary and Dinakaran as deputy general secretary.

RB Udaykumar, Tamil Nadu Minister, who read the resolution at the council meeting announced that all announcements of TTV Dinakaran are not binding on the party.
