New Delhi, April 15: Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan has done it again. Saying that difficult days are ahead for Muslims, Samjawadi Party leader said that he is ready to leave India if any other country gives him shelter.

"Agar mujhe koi desh panaah dene ko tayaar ho, to maim sah-parivaar Hindustan chhodne ko tayyar hun. Yeh soch kar ki kyun meri wajah se desh ka nuqsaan ho? (If some other country offers me a shelter, I am willing to leave Hindustan with my family. Why should the nation suffer because of me?," the Samajwadi Party leader was quoted as saying in an India Today report.

Khan said this while talking about a group of Valmikis in Rampur reportedly converting to Islam to prevent the demolition of their houses.

"The circumstances being created suggest that difficult days are ahead for the Muslim community," Khan further said adding "I honestly say that if any country agrees to shelter me, I will leave India along with my family."

In an attempt to save their houses from demolition, more than 800 Valmikis in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district on Tuesday embraced Islam.

It is reported that Valmikis were issued a threat a few days ago and that they converted to Islam only when left with no option.
