Did Sasikala just walk out of Bengaluru jail?

A new video that emerged on Monday shows Sasikala Natarajan walking into the Bengaluru central jail. The video has added further strength to the claim that the disproportionate assets convict is being given special privileges in the Bengaluru central jail.

Did Sasikala just walk out of Bengaluru jail?

The video is said to be part of the 'evidence' submitted by IPS officer Roopa to prove her claims that Sasikala Natarajan was living the high life inside the Parappana Agrahara jail. The video shows Sasikala, accompanied by another woman, entering the jail from outside with what looks like shopping bags in hand led by a police officer. The officer has been identified as DySP Anita, who was later transferred out of Bengaluru central jail.

Sasikala's entry has been captured by the CCTV camera. She is seen wearing a brown churidar and not jail uniform. The woman accompanying her is seen wearing a red saree. The newly emerged footage seems to be from a different angle of another video that had emerged months ago. The earlier video too shows Sasikala and the woman wearing the same clothes and carrying the bag, albeit from a different angle.

In a report filed with the then DG prisons, IPS officer Roopa had alleged that special privileges were begin given to Sasikala Natarajan at the Bengaluru central jail for a rumours 'bribe of Rs 2 crore'. The report led to the government ordering an investigation into the matter even as Sasikala's family denied all allegations.

The video has come as yet another proof of Sasikala being treated differently from other inmates. The video is, however, undated.
