Did Rahul Gandhi’s wink kill the hug?

New Delhi, July 20: The hug in Parliament is a matter of national debate right now. During his speech at the no-confidence motion, Rahul Gandhi not only attacked the government, but decided to end it on a filmy note, when he hugged the Prime Minister.
When he walked up to the PM and hugged him, Modi was taken aback. However Modi called Rahul back, shook hand with him and both were seen smiling.
A few moments later, Rahul Gandhi took his seat and then was seen winking at some of his party colleagues. This was caught on camera and began trending on the social media immediately. His speech was forgotten and the social media discussed his hug and subsequent wink.
Twitter users were quick to take this one. Smita Mishra said on Twitter, ' how the wink killed the hug.. Something like people running away with the thats in the Kat Sabha.'

Dismissive hug for show without any warmth by Rahul Gandhi. Tried to run away after the hug and did not look Modi in his eye. PM Modi in contrast was graceful and called him back, looked at him and patted him on his back.

Others went on to compare his wink with that of Priya Warrier, who had become an internet sensation.

Some would argue that the gesture to hug Modi was a good one by Rahul Gandhi. He had said that, ' you may call me Pappu, but I still respect you.' While some termed the hug as a masterstroke, others felt that the wink that followed indicated that the whole episode was just a political stunt.
