I am confident, did nothing wrong: Chandy on solar panel commission report
Former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy, who has come under a cloud over the findings in the solar panel commission report on Thursday said that he had not done "anything wrong".
A judicial commission had indicted Chandy along with his personal office staff in the multi-crore solar panel scam, holding they all had "assisted" accused Saritha S Nair in "cheating" customers.
Asked if the report would mar his political career, Chandy told reporters "as far as I am concerned, my life is an open book. I am confident that I have not done anything wrong".
"Should I bow down to blackmailing?," he asked when pointed out to the sexual and corruption allegations raised against him and some other Congress leaders by solar scam accused Nair in her letter, which is part of the Justice G Sivarajan commissions four-volume 1,073 page report, that probed the scam.
The report was tabled by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the state assembly today at a special session and copies were made available to the media.
"Even if there was an iota of truth in the allegations, I would keep away from public life," he said.
