Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) warned airlines over rise in prices due to Dera violence in Haryana. It also asked the airlines to mount extra flights for the passengers flying from Delhi to places like Amritsar, Chandigarh and Jammu where rail and road connectivity has suffered.

In a respite for passengers, Air India carrier has been requested to mount extra flight on Delhi-Jammu-Delhi sector. IndiGo has also informed that the airline will mount additional flight on Delhi-Jammu-Delhi sector.

Train and inter-state bus services were suspended as a precautionary measure following violence in Haryana and Punjab by the supporters of Dera Sacha Sauda chief.

The DGCA's advisory comes on the backdrop of the recent violence that has hit cities in Haryana and Punjab in the wake of the conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for rape by a CBI court in Panchkula.
