UP BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya admitted to ICU
BJP UP state unit president Keshav Prasad Maurya who was the front-runner for the post of chief minister has been admitted to ICU ward of Ram Manohar Lohiya Hospital in New Delhi on Thursday with complaints of low blood pressure and chest pain. According to the latest reports, he is currently kept under observation and will be discharged on Friday.
Earlier today, Maurya took a dig at Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati for claiming that EVMs were tampered during UP assembly polls.
Speaking to the media Maurya said, "I don't care if Mayawati goes to court, but before that, she should visit a hospital to get herself treated well, she needs a break."
Maurya who played a crucial role in the victory of the BJP in the recently held UP assembly elections was a front-runner for the post of chief minister. The BJP's Parliamentary Board met on Thursday morning to decide on the next UP CM. However the meeting remained inconclusive on this aspect and it was decided that the name of the candidate would be announced next week.
