Delhi smog: City's air quality stood at "severe"

Tuesday's forecast for the city also remains severe, although with a dip in PM10 and PM2.5 particle readings. Three days from now, Safar forecasts the air quality in the capital to be "very poor".

According to Safar (System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research), Delhi's air quality stood at "severe" on Monday, with PM10 readings at 645 microgrammes per cubic metre and PM2.5 at 416 microgrammes per cubic metre.

As per CPCB data, average AQI for last 24 hours: Delhi at 460, Ghaziabad at 497, Gurugram and Noida at 466. All fall into 'severe' category.

Earlier, the Indian Meteorological Department said that an acceleration in wind-speeds could result in rain and continue till Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government moved the NGT seeking amendment in its November 11 order on Odd-Even scheme, to which the green panel said it will hear the plea tomorrow.

The apex court has issue a notice to the Centre, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi government on petition on stubble burning and dust pollution.
