According to reports, BSP's strongholds were Muslim-dominated areas as well as places in Outer Delhi. However, party chief Mayawati stayed away from the polls.
It was believed that the UP election results would play a pivotal role in party's performance.
Till noon, the party has registered victory in only three wards- Jahangirpuri, Gharoli and Nandnagari wards- out of more than 200 wards in which the BSP had contested.
In 2012, the party had secured at least 15 seats- seven from North Delhi, 5 from South and won only 3 seats in East Delhi- with over 10 % vote share.
According to current trends, BJP is leading in 180 seats, Congress in 31 seats and AAP in 46 wards.
