Delhi HC seeks ECI reply in AAP office of profit case
The Delhi High Court has sought for a written reply from the Election Commission on the matter pertaining to the disqualification of 20 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs in connection with the office of profit case.
The court sought to know on the basis of which such a recommendation was made. The replies are returnable by February 7, the date on which the Delhi HC would hear the matter next.

The ECI had recommended the disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs from the Delhi Legislative Assembly in the office of profit case. The matter was then placed before the President of India who gave his consent to the disqualification.

The AAP had moved the Delhi HC challenging the decision. It said that the office of profit issue did not arise as the MLAs had not been taking a salary.
