Delhi: 7-year-old boy kidnapped by former tenant, keeps body in suitcase for 35 days
A seven-year-old boy in Delhi was killed and his rotting body was stuffed inside a suitcase for 35 days by a former tenant. The incident took place in Delhi's Swaroop Nagar.
Identified as Avadesh Sakya, the accused is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) aspirant. 27-year-old had Sakya used to stay with the victim's family for at least five years. Sakya was allegedly unhappy with the boy's parents who objected his habit of partying.
On Januray 7, Sakya, had kidnapped the boy for ransom but developed cold feet fearing police action and killed the child. He had recently shifted to another house in the neighbourhood from where the kid's body was found.
Sakya had even accompanied the search party and had gone to the police station with the boy's parents to file a missing complaint.
According to police, the boy was killed immediately after he was kidnapped. Sakya was arrested on Tuesday after the neighbours complained of a foul smell emanating from his room in Swaroop Nagar.
