There was some disturbing news that has come from Uttar Pradesh with several MLAs in the Yogi Adityanath government getting threat calls. Preliminary investigations have shown that the call was being made by a man claiming to be an aide of Dawood Ibrahim.

Dawood’s threat to UP BJP MLAs could be due to fear of Yogi’s encounter drive

Sources tell OneIndia that there is a direct correlation between the threat calls and the massive encounter drive that the UP government had carried out in the past few months.

Until February the number of encounters in UP stood at 1,142. In these encounters at least 34 criminals have been shot dead, 265 were injured and 2,744 arrested. Yogi had made it clear that this drive would not stop and his main objective was to finish the Goonda Raaj that has been prevailing and thriving for long in UP.

This drive by Yogi has clearly affected the D-Gang's operation which incidentally has the highest number of sharp-shooters from UP. Uttar Pradesh has been a strategic location for the D gang as the state has provided the don with the most number of sharp shooters. The D gang which thrives on extortions relies heavily on sharp shooters. At any given time this gang has at least 200 sharp shooters and as per the records available with the police and the intelligence 130 are from Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh has also been strategic in terms of the drug and escape route for the D Gang. Bordering Nepal only made the job of the D Gang in UP easier. Not only do drugs flow into UP through Nepal, but criminals wanting a safe exit into Pakistan also use the Nepal route.

The D Gang has in fact appointed a set of touts too who ferry across criminals across to Nepal and then to Pakistan. The IB says that the D Gang has been extremely close to the political set up in Uttar Pradesh. In exchange for protection from the politicians, the D Gang has given arms and also large chunks of cash to politicians. On some ocassions, even the narcotics for major political bashes have been provided by the D Gang.

This drive has instilled fear into the minds of the criminals and in the bargain it has affected the operations of the D-Gang. The threat calls handed out to 12 MLAs could be a way of warning the UP government to go slow.

The first to get the threat call was BJP MLA, Anita Rajput. The threat was then handed to 11 more BJP MLAs. All the MLAs got WhatsApp messages from +1(903)329-4240 and all of them were asked to pay a sum of 10 lakhs, failing which their family members would be killed.

The 11 MLAs to get the threat message or call are Shyam Bihari Lal (Bareilly), R K Sharma (Bilsi), Vinod Katiyar (Bhognipur), Shashank Trivedi (Sitapur), Lokendra Pratap Singh (Lakhimpur), Veer Vikram Singh (Shahjahanpur), Manvendra Singh (Shahjahanpur) Vinay Dwiwedi (Gonda), Prem Narain Pandey (Gonda) Suresh Srivastava (Lucknow) and Rajnikant Mani Tripathi (Kushinagar).

The UP police is coordinating with the central Intelligence Bureau to get more details on this case. Preliminary investigations have found that there is a larger conspiracy. Sources say that a server in Texas was being used in Bahrain. It was also clear that the WhatsApp group of the MLAs had been hacked.

Sources say that the man identified himself as Ali Budhesh Bhai and claimed that he was a Dawood associate. He had texted the MLAs in Hindi and there were no mistakes which has led the police to suspect that he may be of Indian origin.
