Bangalore, Oct 8: After several news media reported that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah attended Dasara puja with his foot wear on, the CM has issued notices to all those who spread the "rumours".

On the last of the Mysore Dasara, there were many news reports stating that the CM attended a puja for goddess Chamundeshwari and offered flowers without taking off his footwear.

CM said that he has directed his officials to issue legal notices to those who had spread such rumours.

"As the rumours continued even after a clarification was issued, it appears that it was done with mala fide intentions." Also, Siddaramaiah's office issued a press release denying the media reports.

On Monday, during an event held in official residence, Siddaramaiah said: "I did not wear shoes while offering puja to goddess Chamundeshwari ahead of the Dasara procession. It was not right to start rumours after seeing that I had worn socks. Don't I know how to behave in accordance with the occasion? The irresponsible behaviour of the media which hurt the sentiments of the people during the occasion was not right"
