Coup in West Bengal- Army rubbishes Mamata's allegation

The Eastern command's Twitter handle called the bluff and said that the routine exercise was with full coordination and knowledge of the West Bengal police.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stayed overnight in her office taking offense to the army being deployed at toll booths in West Bengal. She cried foul and her party members termed it as a coup. However the army has rubbished these allegations and the Eastern Command of the Indian army took to its Twitter account to set the record straight.

On its social media handle, the army made it clear that it was a routine exercise in all North Eastern states. The Eastern command's Twitter handle called the bluff and said that the routine exercise was with full coordination and knowledge of the West Bengal police.

The Army thrashed Mamata Banerjee and TMC's speculations of the army taking over toll booths calling it incorrect in their tweet. Trinamool Congress Chief had locked herself up in her office demanding that the army be withdrawn. She had also stated that her party MPs will raise the issue in the parliament on Friday.

The Indian Army also stated that this was nothing more than a routine exercise that was being carried out in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram.
