"The countdown for the Congress to go has begun. The Congress is at the exit gate at the moment. We will ensure that Karnataka is Congress mukth. We will rid Karnataka rid of Congress culture," he said.

Modi began his speech in Kannada much to the excitement of the crowd.

Modi was addressing the valedictory of the 90-day Parivartana yatra undertaken by the Karnataka BJP ahead of the crucial Karnataka assembly elections 2018, scheduled to be held in April-May.

Our government has ensured that the poor live well. The people of Karnataka have benefitted immensely due to our reforms, Modi also said.

He further said that since the past three years the reforms of the Centre has not reached the people of Karnataka due to the inefficiency of the Congress. When Congress was in power at the Centre, Karnataka got Rs 73,000 crore. After BJP came to power Karnataka got grant of over Rs 2 lakh crore. Has this been utilised correctly? If Karnataka has to reach new heights, then BJP is the solution.

Very soon you will have a sub-urban rail network at a cost of Rs 17,0000 crore. This will benefits lakhs of people. Now you know who cares more about Karnataka. We have done more for Karnataka than what the UPA did, Modi also said.

My dream is the one wearing hawaii chappal should be able to travel in hawaii jahaj. My motto is reform, perform and transform, Modi said.

"B S Yeddyurappa has promised reforms for the farmers. Can you imagine how much the farmer would benefit if both the Centre and State unite on this issue. Yeddyurappa must become the chief minister. He has concern for the farmers," he added.

The Centre is working overtime to ensure that the farmers get the benefits of the minimum support price. Farmers are our top priority. Go to any corner of India and you will three vegetables- Tomato, Onion and Potato (TOP). Hence I say our farmers are our TOP priority.

The Congress CM has only done business here. People are seeing how the Congress has run the government this last four years.

The Congress is running a criminal raj here. We believe in ease of business. But under the Congress, it is ease of doing murder. These murders of the youth has disturbed the social fabric of the state. It is time to throw the Congress out of Karnataka.

I hear unless there is a commission of 10 percent paid here, no work is done. There are so many allegations of corruption against the Congress ministers in Karnataka. There are many mafias here, Modi also said.

Modi spoke about the win of the under 19 team in the cricket world cup. He said that it was the son of Karnataka, Rahul Dravid who was behind this victory. But here we have a Congress government which is negating the efforts of the people of Karnataka.

We understand the aspirations of the middle class. We know that the youth does not want to be the job seeker, he wants to be job creator. For this purpose Rs 3 lakh crore was the budget allocation for the Mudra Yojna, Modi also said.

Our government to protect the Muslim woman brought about the triple talaq bill. The Congress stood in the way and tried to stand in the way of the rights of Muslim woman. The same they also did with the OBC bill.

The BJP Karnataka went all out to ensure that the rally was a major success. Thousands waited under the sun patiently as Modi landed in the city.

Prior to the rally a war of words broke out between the BJP and Congress. The CM of the state, Siddaramaiah had posted a tweet stating, " I welcome PM Narendra Modi to Namma Karnataka, the number 1 state in investment, innovation and progressive politics. Through a unique model of development, we have scripted several national firsts across key sectors. I am confident that Karnataka's success makes India proud."

He also said, " I am glad you are making time to visit the country's start up and innovation hub today. I on behalf of the people urge you to find way for Karnataka's drinking water needs and help resolve the Mahadayi dispute."

B S Yeddyurappa hit back and said, "thanks for the welcome CM. Yes. Karnataka indeed has scripted several firsts - No.1 Corrupt State, 3,500 plus farmer suicides, collapse of law and order, mysterious deaths of officers, transfers of honest officials, crumbling infra of Bengaluru."
