Congress Party's new ad campaign “Main nahi, hum” steals Modi's slogan
In 2011, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had said the same slogan " Main nahin, hum" during a "Chintan Shivir" (brainstorming camp) in Gujarat.
After watching Congress's ad, Modi sharply reacted to it by issuing a statement that they have 'copied' his theme.
Modi reacted to it by saying that Congress has 'copied' his theme.
The BJP senior leader Yashwant Sinha termed the act as "Copy-cat," while another top leader Shahnawaz Hussain said, "Nakal ke liye Akal chahiye (Even imitation needs brains). The Congress hates Modi but loves his slogan. Rahul can steal a slogan but where will he get Modi's experience and the capacity to perform?"
However, the Congress brushed aside BJP's claim of "copyright".
A party spokesperson said, "there is no copyright on the phrase. This is not our real slogan."
The Congress has not yet officially announced party's Vice President Rahul Gandhi as its prime ministerial candidate for the upcoming general elections,
Yesterday, Rahul had said in Amethi, "In Congress, elected MPs select the PM. After elections if our party comes to power and the MPs select me then I will definitely consider it."
Even party's Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday backed Rahul Gandhi and said that 'Rahul Gandhi had enough fire in his belly at the AICC meet. If the Congress came to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election, I am certain that Rahul Gandhi will be the PM.'
