New Delhi, Nov 20: The Congress party on Sunday mocked the government over the proposal of bringing bullet trains to the country when the existing railway system is flawed.

"Unfortunate; we talk about running bullet trains when we are unable to run these safely, judicial probe must be ordered," news agency ANI quoted Shukla as saying.

Earlier, 14 coaches of Patna-Indore Express derailed in Pukharayan near Kanpur, UP, resulting in the deaths of over 91 people.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will be rushing to the spot where Patna-Indore Express derailed even as relief and rescue efforts are underway in full swing.

Prabhu earlier announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3.5 lakhs each to the families of the deceased while Rs 50,000 for those critically injured in the ill fated incident.

The compensation for those who sustained minor injuries would be Rs.25, 000.
