Congress MLAs left for their constituencies after Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy proved majority in Karnataka Assembly on Friday. All the MLAs were holed up in hotels and resorts for the last 10 days. The MLAs were literally under house arrest since the assembly elections results threw up a hung assembly on May 15.

According to reports, some of them might have stayed back at Hilton Hotel to lobby for ministerial berths.

Congress strongman DK Shivakumar and his brother MP DK Suresh guarded the MLAs against poaching by the BJP which was desperate to get the support of independents and Congress MLAs during the trust vote.

JD(S) MLAs are staying at Prestige Golfshire Resort off Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru. HD Kumaraswamy reportedly told his MLAs how important it is for the party to be in power for its survival and requested them to accept whatever decision he and his father H D Deve Gowda take with regard to the composition of the cabinet.

Earlier, HD Kumaraswamy's Vote of Confidence has been unanimously approved by voice vote after BJP MLAs walked out of the Assembly during CM's speech. Kumaraswamy moved the one-line motion soon after the unanimous election of Ramesh Kumar as the speaker of the assembly.
