Congress leader threatens to set BBMP office on fire, more embarrassment for Siddaramaiah
After Mohammed Nalpad Haris' case, another Congress leader's arrogance caught on camera has left Siddaramaiah's government in Karnataka embarrassed. A block Congress president and MLA Byrathi Basavraj's right-hand man, Narayanaswamy, was caught on camera threatening to set a government office ablaze. The man even sprays petrol inside the office threatening to destroy all files.
Narayanaswamy, a member of Bengaluru Water Board (appointments to the board were personally made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah) is seen throwing petrol inside a Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) office in Horamavu threatening to set it ablaze. The incident is said to have taken place on Friday and four days later, no action has been taken against the Congress leader.
Narayanaswamy is said to have stormed the BBMP office after an official refused to process fake documents for a piece of land in NRI layout whose documents have been seized by the court. While the officer in question was transferred immediately after the incident, the rowdy politician has been allowed to go scotfree. Narayanaswamy allegedly forced ARO Chenagalrayappa to process documents illegally. When the official refused to concede, an agitated Narayanaswamy landed at the regional BBMP office and threatened to destroy all the files along with the building.
"Am I a goonda or a rowdy-sheeter? Why are you coming close to me." Narayanaswamy is seen asking in the video even as he continues to throw petrol at the office walls.
After the video became public, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been tearing into the Congress government and behaviour of its leaders.
While one MLA's son tried to kill a commoner and his cronies attacked media, another leader threatens to set the BBMP office on fire. The arrogance & hooliganism of Congress leaders is touching new heights everyday. CM @siddaramaiah's model of governance on display! https://t.co/fEfkjaCM78— B.S.
