Congress accuses BJP of helping Sadhvi Pragya get bail
The Congress on Friday said that the BJP helped Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur in getting bail.
Congress' Surender Rajput told ANI that the BJP modified some acts in the Constitution that helped Sadhvi Pragya in getting bail.
Another Congress leader Raju Waghmare said that the NIA was putting pressure on the government lawyer to go slow in the case. He said that there was a conspiracy to get Sadhvi Pragya out.
Talking to the media for the first time after being released on bail Sadhvi Pragya on Thursday said she was victim of Congress' conspiracy.
"I am a victim of Congress' conspiracy, nine years of injustice", she said.
She was arrested during UPA rule in connection with 2008 Malegaon blast in which six people were killed.
While granting the bail, the Bombay high court has directed Sadhvi Pragya to surrender her passport to the National Investigation Agency and also directed her not to tamper with the evidence and to report to NIA court as and when required.
Sadhvi was in custody since 2008, for almost nine years.
At the ouset, the stringent provisions of Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act, 1999 (MCOCA) were slapped against her. But after the decision of the Supreme Court, the NIA dropped charges under MCOCA against Sadhvi.
