Nagpur, May 26: The Congress today slammed the BJP-led NDA government on its completion of two years in office, for "reneging" from poll promises like getting black money back in the country.

"There are several issues where the Modi government has failed to deliver, like on the foreign policy front, bringing back Rs 80 lakh crores black money, fighting terror, minimum support price for agriculture produce," All India Congress Committee spokesperson Shakti Singh Gohil told a press conference here.

The MLA from Gujarat said the Modi dispensation made false promise to deposit Rs 15 lakhs in every Indians' bank account out of the black money stashed abroad which it will get back into the country.

Gohil said on one hand Modi invited Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif for the swearing in ceremony two years back, went to attend wedding of Sharif's kin and in the process could not stop terror attack on Pathankot air base.

"Similarly, cordial relations with our trusted neighbour Nepal soured during Modi's two year tenure and Nepal has gone closer to China," he said. He said the BJP government had promised two crores new employment for youths in 2014 but on the contrary, only 1.34 lakh jobs were created in that year.

"The common man is the worst suffer. Petrol and diesel prices which were at USD 108.05 (per barrel) two years back, rolled down to to USD 48.41 which is down 55.20 per cent.

"Petrol prices during this period in the country declined by 11.74 per cent and diesel by 8.9 per cent. Indeed by all logic, petrol price should be Rs 31.99/litre and diesel Rs 25.40 per litre, but unfortunately the benefits of fall in fuel prices in the international markets have not been passed consumers in the country," Gohil said.

He ridiculed NDA's flagship 'Make in India' campaign, saying there has been a drop of 34 per cent in the exports. "Instead of investments coming to India, we have invested Rs 14,212 crores outside the country," he claimed.
