Conflict of interest: Will Sidhu get a new portfolio?
Sidhu currently holds the portfolios of local government, tourism and cultural affairs.
With questions being raised on Navjot Singh Sidhu continuing as a celebrity-judge on a popular TV comedy show, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Wednesday said cricketer turned politician's portfolio may have to be changed if there is a conflict of interest.
Sidhu currently holds the portfolios of local government, tourism and cultural affairs. He has maintained that his appearing on The Kapil Sharma Show will not interfere with his cabinet responsibilities. Sidhu opines that doing a TV show does not come under the ambit of 'office of profit'.

Amarinder, on his part, has sought the opinion of advocate general in this regard.
The controversy erupted after Sidhu recently said that he will continue to appear on a popular TV show as a celebrity judge.
Meanwhile, Sidhu's wife Navjot Kaur has come out in support of her husband through a Facebook post, saying that the issue was being over-hyped without any reason.
"We have no other business or source of income except television. He has left 80 percent of shows which included IPL, commentator etc. Shooting for 2 shows of comedy night with Kapil takes only 5 hours in a week and that also mostly on Saturday night. I think it is a meager time for a non-socially active God-fearing workaholic," she wrote in her post.
