Chhota Rajan's mood swings are hard to deal with for the CBI
Mumbai, Nov 10: Moody at times and sometimes talks non-stop. This is what Chhota Rajan, the don who was recently deported, is in custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Rajan today is being asked several personal questions and only once this exercise of getting familiar with him is complete will the real investigation begin.
In the case of a major investigation there is always an exercise which is undertaken where the investigator gets familiar with the criminal. This is a normal practice and once this is complete, the hard questions will begin.
Chhota Rajan looked tired when he was brought down. The constant hide and seek with both the police and the members of the D Gang had tired him no end.
He seemed relieved in custody, but there are times when he can be extremely moody, officials say.
He has different food interests and constantly demands an English breakfast as opposed to the Indian meal that is provided to prisoners.
However, in exceptional cases, investigators can make that exception and provide a prisoner with a meal of his choice.
This is done to develop a bond with the prisoner so that he is more forthcoming while answering key questions. A moody or an unhappy high profile prisoner is very fussy in giving out information.
At times he tells the officials that he is scared of Dawood, but on other occasions there is a outburst where he says that he will hunt his former boss down.
These are extreme mood swings that are displayed by him in custody. He is never left alone and there are four constable at any given time to watch him and also provide company.
Rajan may have not gone to school, but he is extremely street smart. He understands money very well and this shows in the investments he has made in various countries.
Relying on smuggling, he has set up several jewellery shops and has a diamond business in Africa.
He is a professional in investments, an officer adds while also stating that he had a huge amount of money on him at the time of his arrest.
The investigators are going to question him on his business ventures and if the need be all attempts would be made to seize those assets.
This is a natural process as all the investments he has made are from ill-gotten wealth, investigators say.
