Chennai Police stops screening of Baahubali 2 in theatres
The police officials stated that the theatre owners did not have permission to screen Baahubali 2 in Chennai.
Chennai, April 28: Movie-goers in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, got a rude shock after the police stopped the screening of the much-awaited film, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, in major theatres across the city, on Friday. Media reports said morning shows of the film had been cancelled in all theatres of the city.
Thus, the fans of Baahubali franchise in Chennai still don't know as why Kattapa killed Baahubali. Moreover, doubts prevail if police officials would allow the screening of the film in the afternoon in the city.
The police officials stated that the theatre owners did not have permission to screen the film. They refuse to give further details.
A report in India Today said that the morning shows of Baahubali 2 were cancelled in Chennai as the financial settlement between K Productions (distributors of Baahubali 2 in Tamil) and producers is yet to be cleared.
Reportedly, the producers did not give clearance to the distributors to screen the film before 11 am. And therefore, no screening of Baahubali 2 will take place before 11 in the morning in Chennai.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion released on Friday across 8,000 screens in the country. The movie is a sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning, the blockbuster film directed by Telugu filmmaker SS Rajamouli.
