Chandigarh stalking case: Haryana govt transfers Varnika Kundu’s father to low-key dept
The Haryana government on Tuesday transferred the IAS father of Chandigarh stalking victim, Varnika Kundu, a month after the police arrested the state BJP chief's son Vikas Barala in connection with the case.
Kundu, a senior Haryana-cadre IAS officer who was looking after state's Tourism Department, has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Science and Technology Department, a relatively low-key department.
Vikas Barala, the 23-year-old son of Subhash Barala, and his friend Ashish Kumar, 27, were arrested for stalking Varnika, who is a city-based DJ.
After the incident, the duo were widely seen as the brave warriors as they stood against the government demanding justice.
Speculationa are also rife that transfer could be result of Kundu standing up against Haryana BJP leader.
However, the the government has not mentioned any reason for Kundu's new posting.
Apart from Kundu, Vijai Vardhan has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism Department, Jyoti Arora as Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, and Ashok Kumar Meena as Director, Development and Panchayats Department. Garima Mittal has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Mahendragarh.
V.S.Kundu gets sidelined.
