CBI rubbishes news reports confirming rape charge against BJP MLA in Unnao rape case
The Central Bureau of Investigation has rubbished news reports that suggested that it had confirmed the rape charge against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in connection with the Unnao gang rape case.
The CBI said in a note that the it is probing three cases relating to certain incident including alleged rape, violence et in District Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. The probe is ongoing the CBI also said. The note further CBI has not given any update/conclusion/views with respect to the cases to any media person. All such stories related to said cases published/broadcast in the media recently are purely speculative.
Several
media
outlets
had
reported
that
the
CBI
had
confirmed
the
sexual
assault
charges
against
Sengar
in
the
Unnao
case.
The
report
also
said,
Uttar
Pradesh
police
tried
to
save
Kuldeep
Singh
Sengar
and
other
accused
by
not
naming
them
in
the
FIR
and
chargesheet.
In
April
the
Central
Bureau
of
Investigation
had
arrested
Sengar
in
connection
with
the
alleged
rape
of
17-year-old-girl
in
Uttar
Pradesh's
Unnao
district.
