CBI, Mumbai police team leave for Bali to secure Chotta Rajan
Mumbai, Nov 1: A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Mumbai police has left for Indonesia to begin the process of getting Chhota Rajan back to India.
The team which is expected to reach Bali shortly is equipped with case files relating to Rajan.
Although the team does not expect any hiccups in bringing Rajan back there are still formalities which have to be completed.
Case papers on Rajan, an extradition request and several investigation reports apart from a home ministry note is what the team is equipped with.
On reaching Bali, where Rajan was arrested last week, the team would discussions with the local police first. They would then question Rajan before handing over the relevant papers to the local authorities.
It is yet to be seen if the Indonesian authorities would have any conditions before handing over Rajan.
Once the warrant is secured Rajan would either be brought or deported to India. He is expected to be taken to Mumbai where he will lodged in a high security cell.
The Delhi police too which has six cases against him will question Rajan. However, the Mumbai crime branch will handle the bulk of the cases which is around 75.
