CBI arrests ED Assistant Director Shashi Shekar in Rs 10 lakh Bribery case
The Assistant Director Shashi Shekhar was arrested on Thursday for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 10 lakh through a businessman.
Shekhar, during his tenure as Assistant Director ED in conspiracy with M/S of Set Square Holdings Private Limited Raj Kumar Agarwal, reportedly abused his official position as a public servant and obtained an illegal gratification from different persons as a motive or a reward for discharging his duties.
As per sources, Shekhar has collected more than Rs 10 lakh, which has been parked with Agarwal with the motive to take back the same in the garb of a lawful income at a later date, reports ANI.
A case has been registered against Shekhar, Agarwal, representative of Agarwal and others unknown under section 120-B of India Penal Code (IPC) and section 7, 12 and section 13(1)(d) r/w section 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act.
