One China made pistol, two magazines, 17 live cartridges, Pakistani currency, two mobile phones with SIM cards and a plastic pipe of 10 feet were also recovered from the smuggler, reported news agency ANI.

On February 10, a Pakistani smuggler was killed while another was caught as BSF jawans thwarted an attempt to smuggle in heroin into the country through the Abohar sector in Punjab. BSF had noticed some movement of Pakistani smugglers near the border fence and sounded an alert. Soon after the BSF troops challenged the alleged Pak smugglers when they approached the fence to push the contraband to the Indian side, the latter opened fire. When the BSF troops retaliated in self-defence, both the alleged smugglers sustained bullet injuries.
