Bomb-like object triggers panic among Kanwariyas in Haridwar; security on alert
The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has planned a three-tier security for kanwariyas when the pilgrimage.
Kanwariyas were panicked after a pipe-shaped object, suspected to be a "bomb", was found in the Bairagi Camp area in Haridwar.
The object was found in the parking area allotted for the Kanwariyas who were in the city for the last phase of the Kanwar Yatra.
However, the bomb squad reached the spot and destroyed it. The fragments were sent to a laboratory, Senior SSP Krishna Kumar VK said.
The officer said security has been stepped up and deployed drones. Also, the intelligence units have been alerted.

The security establishment and State police department have decided to use drones, watch towers and CCTV.
This year about 4 to 5 crore pilgrims from different parts of the State are expected to reach Haridwar travelling through Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur and Bijnor in western UP.
Kanwar Yatra- the annual pilgrimage of devotees of Lord Shiva, began on July 10 and will conclude on August 7.
