Mumbai, June 18: After receiving a warning, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan finally attended the court hearing in Mumbai on Thursday, June 18. The actor attended the court hearing in connection with 2012 brawl case involving him and an NRI businessman.

The case, which earlier was scheduled for April 6, was deferred as Saif Ali Khan was not present in the court. The Mumbai court then had warned the actor asking him to be present for the court hearing.

Saif along with Kareena Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora and Amrita's husband Shakeel Ladak had gone to have dinner in a hotel in Mumbai in Feb, 2012.

Following an argument with the South African businessman Iqbal Sharma, Saif allegedly had punched the businessman. The complainant claimed that Saif had assaulted him after he asked the actor's group to be quieter.

Saif, however, asserted that he was provoked as the businessman allegedly had used abusive language against the women in the dinner group, which led to the scuffle.

Khan and his two friends -- Bilal Amrohi and Shakkel Ladak -- were arrested following a complaint filed by Iqbal Mir Sharma, an NRI businessman, after an alleged fight at a restaurant inside Taj Hotel here on February 22, 2012.

The three were later released on bail. The court has framed charges against them under Sections 325 (assault) and 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code.
