Haryana: Body of girl baby found in garbage dump; nearby note said 'save the girl'
The body of a twelve-month-old girl was found dumped in a garbage bin in Fatehabad district on Saturday. An initial probe by the Haryana police indicated toward the suspected use of the sorcery.
But what puzzled the police officers is that a handwritten note, "Save the Girl" in English was lying near the body of the infant girl. The police have ruled out any connection between the body and the note.
A passerby who saw the body on Saturday evening near the railway crossing on Chopta Road at Bhattu Kalan village alerted the police.
"Yes, we recovered a note that reads "Save the Girl". It was lying near an earthen pot just about 10 metres from the spot where the body was dumped. But, this is a slogan of the Haryana government and written in a good handwriting. There is no connection between the note and the crime," DSP Tomar reports the Hindustan Times. The police were trying to ascertain whether the child was drowned in the adjoining drain or dumped after being killed.
The Police investigation revealed that the note was written by a school student and then dumped the letter at the crime spot.
In June, a six-month-old child was sacrificed by a sorcerer with the help of another man to appease god in Jharkhand.
