'Blue Whale Challenge does not exist,' says Kerala police officer
Manoj Abraham, a senior police officer in Kerala has denied such a game even exists
There is no proof of Blue Whale Challenge on cyberspace, said a senior Kerala police officer. Manoj Abraham, Chief of Cyberdome in Kochi has said that the game is non-existent. The officer said that the game, which has allegedly pushed two youngsters from Kerala to suicide does not exist. This is the first such official statement from someone in authority over the game that was also raised in the parliament.
"The police could not come across even a single administrator, called 'tutor,' who allegedly assigned bizarre tasks to those hooked on it. No traces were found despite sweeping the cyberspace with the help of experts at Cyberdome for more than a fortnight," said IG Manoj Abraham.

The officer was speaking to the media on Friday on the sidelines of c0c0n X-2017, a two-day hacking and cyber security conference. The officer also highlighted how it was impossible for anything in cyberspace to be targetted only at children. "Nothing can be released in the cyberspace targeting children alone as any such content would be accessible to everyone. It is not possible that the so-called game could target only children while avoiding grown-ups," he pointed out.
Those present at the conference also highlighted how no agencies, including foreign probe agencies, had found any link between the game and suicides that purportedly were a result of the game. IG Abraham also pointed out that the device of the alleged victim of the game from Kerala was subjected to forensic examination but did not throw up any evidence linking it to the Blue Whale Challenge.
