BJP to organise cow protection ashtayama yagna today in Bengaluru
The event with two months to go for Assembly elections, will be attended by the state BJP's top-brass, such as chief BS Yeddyurappa and Bengaluru South MP Ananth Kumar.
BJP's Cow Protection Cell will organise a 'Cow Protection Ashtayama Yagna' in Bengaluru on Friday to create awareness about the importance of the cow and "the need to protect cattle population to strengthen the rural economy."
The event with two months to go for Assembly elections will be attended by the state chief BS Yeddyurappa and Bengaluru South MP Ananth Kumar.
The Yagna will start on February 2nd with the chanting of Akhanda Ramayana and the next day on February 3 pm. A special theatre troupe from Janakpuri, Sita's birthplace, will perform a dance event titled Sri Rama's wedding.
The move to raise the issue of 'gaumata' as a campaign took comes barely weeks after the BJP raised the other emotive issue - beef - at a rally addressed by the UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, where he questioned Congress chief minister Siddaramaiah's Hindu credentials.
